    I wonder you could use a normal vacuum?

    Ziplock makes these too. Their pump is a hand pump. No batteries, so I like it.

    @Mrcaffinebean

    I bet you could, I’ll try the shop vac sometime

    @metalhead2508 yes but the air tends to get back in the bag after a bit. its good for a few days. but the trick to it is putting a piece of tape over where the air gets pumped from after you have pumped it.

    @Graybear5150 Thanks for the tip. I had noticed that it leaked out after a while, but didn’t know how to fix it. I’ll definitely give it a try.

    Only problem I have had is the sticker that your sucking on comes off. I still use the bags for my clothes even after the stickers came off. They are really strong!

    @USNERDOC

    Have you had any issues with the zipper bags loosing their air tight seal over time?

  • By biglou250, July 19, 2010 @ 11:30 am

    I actually just got some Ziplock vacuum bags and a manual pump about a week ago, similar to those FoodSaver bags in the video. I put some ammo and batteries in one bag and about 15 Scott towel/napkins in another bag, sealed and pumped them up, then put them in my med bag and left them. Checked them today and found out they did lose some of their vacuum seal.Sucked the air back out of them and put tape around the suction part of the bag. Maybe that’ll fix them.

    Let us know if these keep a seal.
