I bought a pork butt this past Sunday with a sell by date of 2/24 NOT vacuum sealed. I wanted to make it today, not remembering that the sell by date had already past. I opened it and investigated. I did notice kind of a LIGHT FOUL odor even after rinsing in cold water but decided to put it in the slow cooker anyway. While it cooks I wanted to see what my chances are of getting food poisoning and if the risk was high I’d toss it before it finished cooking. My question is since I plan on cooking this meat thoroughly (at least 4 hrs and to 160 degrees or higher, if required) if its possibly contaminated or going bad would the cooking process destroy all the bacteria? Might I still get sick?
Thanks in advance!

My husband and I have lived in this apartment for about a year and started finding bites on our skin after our neighbor moved in. We had the landlord call someone to inspect our apartment and couldn’t find anything. The inspector then asked to see the neighbors unit and long behold, they were literally covered over the walls. They were crawling under the carpet to access our apartment. The exterminator has been here about 4 times now and my neighbor still has the problem. I put duct tape all around the wall and carpet so they cannot enter. We were sleeping on the floor surrounded by duct tape and caught two bugs. After the last extermination I only found one bug alive and have not found any more on the tape. We want to get the hell out of here and have the concern of bringing them with us. We are going to stay at my parents, double bag clothing and blankets to wash them, and put our stuff in a storage unit until we can find a new place. The exterminator can’t come back again until the time we need to be out of apartment, we gave our notice. My question is if I vacuum everything, put it loosely in a box, and spray the bed bug spray all over some furniture, does it really work? Then leave the bigger furniture here and after exterminator comes, put it with the rest in storage and let off a fogger? We already had to throw away couch and not looking to throw out any more items unless absolutely necessary. Could this help solve our bed bug fiasco? Has anyone else been through this situation? Thanks in advance!!!

Im leaving for Wisonsin (all over, we are going to drive around, so don’t ask where) in two weeks, for two weeks. My dad said I have to fit everything in my carry-on luggage because it’s apparently too expensive to check our bags. ?
Anyways, I always over pack… like for a field trip for two nights at Sea World I packed a HUGE bag, PLUS a suitcase.
I’m crazy like that.
Also, anything that saves space in the Luggage?
I’ve heard of rolling the clothes up.. anything else?
Also, if you live near or in Wisconsin,
what do you think I would need?
Thanks in advance.

I want to make my own instant dried soups with a food dehydrator. The packaged ones are really loaded with salt, fat and chemicals. The ‘healthy’ versions of instant soups cost way too much and don’t always taste great for the price.
I have made my own frozen meals successfully and vacuum sealed them and they came out perfect aside from the fact they aren’t very portable. I don’t have a stove or microwave at work but I have hot water.
I am just not sure how to make dried soups. I really like the convenience of being about to carry something that I can just throw boiling water on and eat!
Is there any way I can make a great homemade ‘Instant cup a soup?’ I have checked food dehydrator recipes and I haven’t found much besides 100′s of beef jerky and banana chip recipes! Does anyone know of any dried soup recipes? Would I have to buy the bullion/noodles/herbs separately? What kind of disposable heat-proof container/bowl/cup can I use? How long can I store it if I vacuum seal it?
Has anyone tried this and what soups did you make? How did you get the recipes? Any help would be appreciated. Keep in mind I like all soup, chicken, minestrone, cream of corn, split pea, lentil, ramen, or whatever. Ideally I would like to have 4-5 kinds so I can rotate. Please help, I am SO sick of sandwiches and salad and I like something hot and hate fast food! Thanks in advance!

Okay, so here’s the deal. I have asthma which has recently escalated from exercise induced to pretty bad. I’ll have an attack if I start freaking out, but as I’m fine if I take my inhaler and my mom think a lot of it is made up, I doubt she’ll make an appointment specifically for something like this (I couldn’t see the board at all in 5th grade and she thought I was making it up and wouldn’t make an appointment until three weeks before school let out.) My dad is the most forgetful person on the planet when it comes to this and says he’ll call, but when I ask a few days later, he says "oh, no, I forgot.". If I ask him every day if he made it, he gets mad at me.
So I have an air conditioner I brought out of storage tonight. My dad set it up in my room, and I’ve had it going off and on for a while. Well, I forgot to take my Advair earlier tonight, which I suppose could be part of it, even though it’s never bugged me before. My chest has been getting tighter and tighter, to the point I was digging through my stuff to find my inhaler only to remember I left it at my mom’s like the idiot I obviously am. I turned off the AC, and after the air stopped blowing, my breathing instantly improved. It’s still not the best, but I don’t feel like passing out or puking anymore. I’m wondering why this happened? It’s starting to concern me. Thanks in advance!

Ok, so I ordered those space bags things. I also bought the tote spacebags sells. I want to mainly save some space in my closet (NOT TRAVEL).
Spacebags.com has the 7 bag set: 1 extra large bag, 1 large bag, 1 medium bag, 1 hanging bag, 1 full length hanging bag, and 2 travel bags.
I read some reviews on here and most said it was a WASTE of money. There were a few remarks that were good. Here’s my question: Will this product work? Will any of these work for what I need them to do? I just want to store some sweaters, dresses, shirts, pants, comforters, etc. I usually don’t buy into thing like this, but I have so much clothes and such that I needed to save some space. I called them to cancel my order but have to wait a few days to do so.
PLEASE ANSWER honestly and ONLY IF YOU HAVE actually USED THEM! Thanks in advance.

I was wondering if anybody knew of any air-tight containers that will keep the dry dog food fresh so it won’t go stale. If you could tell me the brand of the container and where I could get it at, that would be great too. I live in Philadelphia, PA if that makes a difference.
Thanks in advance!
