I’m wondering if anyone has a good way to store old baby clothes. I have a 2 year old daughter and one on the way, and I have most of my 2 year old’s clothes in a big plastic bin. I just have so much clothes for them!! I don’t know what to do with it all. I looked up Space Bags but they have horrible reviews. I am planning on saving my youngest’s baby clothes "just in case" and I’d like something waterproof and easy to store. Not too bulky. Space Bags seemed perfect and I’m disappointed that for most people they don’t work well
I’m getting sick of having to buy the big plastic bins but I guess I’ll have to keep doing that unless anyone has better ideas? I don’t want to throw them in a garbage bag because I can’t really stack those and they don’t close all the way.
I’m moving to France and I’ve placed all of my clothes in one of those space bags that you can vacuum the air out of and compress to save space…
I’ve got a really nice Lambskin leather jacket that I placed in a plastic cover (like the one you get when you pick up your dry cleaning) and then sandwiched between a few layers of cotton shirts, and then finally vacuum sealed…
I’ve read that they don’t recommend placing leather in a vacuum bag because the chance of mold or bacteria growing inside the space bag, but I’ve got it pretty well protected with the other clothes and in the plastic sheet…
I’m just wondering if this is safe for my jacket and if anyone has experience with a situation like this. Thanks!
Okay so I am finally moving out of my moms in MD to CA for a live in nanny job and I could use some tips on how and what to pack? I am planning on using my Space Bags I bought a few months ago to save space.
I just need tips on what besides clothes, I can pack in checked and carry on luggage? I have a laptop (sleeve case) I am also bringing so does that count as carry on? What should I pack in my checked bags (2) and my carry on (1)? Please help me pack!
Okay this will be the first time (June 7th) when I’ll be flying with my laptop and I have a question for everyone that’s flown with one. I know it says you can have one small luggage (carry on) plus an extra piece such as a laptop but can I put my laptop in it’s sleeve and into my back-pack then take another small carry-on?
To save money I would like to pack the space bags (plastic bags that you vacuum the air out of for smaller space) into my small suitcase as opposed to buying a bigger suitcase. Will they work okay within an airplane? Im not sure if the cargo area is pressurized and if it would effect the bags.
Remember these are absolute necessities. They should be light weight, functional and as space saving as possible.
My kit would ideally include, but is not limited to:
~MREs/Survival tabs/3600 calorie meal bars/Jerky
~Dynamo Powered/Solar: LED flashlight w/red filter/Radio/Single burner hotplate/
~Ceramic water purifying canteen/Water purifying tabs-straws
~Pocket scope w/high magnification (IE: binoculars)
~Bug Spray/Sunblock
~Toothbrush/Highly concentrated soap
~Trauma Kit/Moleskin antiseptics/Iodine/Replace band aids w/liquid bandage/Tylenol-aspirin/Antibiotics
~Space Bags:Rain shell/Quick dry shirt/pants(pants zip into shorts)/WoolSocks/Pantyhose/Large Stay put undies/All weather hat/gloves/shoes-ditch improper cloths 4 packed 1s to lighten load
~Waterproof sleeping bag good for (-40′ whether) can be used to collect rain water
~Road Atlas, Compass
~MultiUse tools: Leatherman/Shovel-pick-axe-crowbar/Knife-Whetstone/Sling shot (good for killing birds for dinner, why waste bullets)
~Electronic Flares
~Plastic Mirror(looking round corners)
~ShamWow Towels
~Survival Guide
~250lb nylon fishing line/hooks/Sewing Kit w/upholstery thread
~Gun/Bullets/Machete/Explosives
Im a little lost on what to put for women getting their period… You cant very well pack all the crap yould need and the blood scent could bring zombies running… It would have to be lightweight/compact and preferably reusable (I know yuck). I thought of "Insteads" which are like plastic tampon cups that "catch" the blood. These could be reused in a pinch but they would have to be cleaned in between use to stave off infection… Any thoughts?
Woot, what a note for me to end on ;D
I should probably throw in hand warmers, masks, Potassium Iodate to protect against possible radiation/radiation detector, ductape, whistle, Solar Sleeping Bag, NBC (Nuclear, Biological, Chemical) Suit would be good but heavy and hot…
i like most people have slept on an air mattress several times but i do not and have never owned one. in a week im going to france w/ my mom we have an apartment there and there is an air mattress there. okay so when we pack we are going to put our clothes in space bags to save space and make the suitcases lighter. Now here we have a vacuum to deflate the bags but there is no vacuum in france sooooo what i wanted to know does the vacuum that comes with an air mattress have a deflater part? if it doesnt, any ideas as to what else can be used?
